In Year 5 this week, we have been researching what a pulley system is, what they are used for and how they have evolved over time. The children then made a prototype of a pulley system before creating their own design specification. They had to choose appropriate materials and tools to develop their own pulley system that could carrying bricks to the continue building a pyramid from a great height. They needed to considered the strength, durability and practicality of the materials.
