This week in Year 5, we have been rewriting the myth, ‘Horus the Avenger’. First, we read the myth and put actions to the words to help the children understand the story. Then the children had to order the pictures from the myth and worked in small groups to think of creative expanded noun phrases, fronted adverbials and adverbs to explain what was happening for each section. This led to an excellent level of writing, where the children have all rewritten the myth in their own words.
