The Year 5 children have been looking at cam mechanisms and learning what cams and followers are and how they work. They worked in small group to design their own ‘Jack in the Box’ style toy that uses a cam mechanism to make it move. The children successfully cut, measured and built their own version and were very pleased when their own mechanism worked!
