In Year 5, we have been looking at the Egyptian artist Alaa Awad. The children created a sketchbook page based on his art work and practiced using different grades of sketching pencils, considering the line, tone and pattern. After practicing in their sketchbooks, they then picked one picture to create an observational drawing in the style of Alaa Awad’s work using the pencil skills we had practiced.
