Jam sandwiches, adding and extreme weather.

This week in the Dolphins and Dragonflies the children have been learning about instruction writing. They followed some instructions to successfully make a jam sandwich. In maths they have been adding one more and one less. In topic they have been analysing weather data in science and looking at extreme weather in geography. 

Autumn 2, Week 6 – Soluble and Insoluble substances

This week in Science, the children recapped their understanding of states of matter before comparing and grouping the solubility of various solids such as sugar, flour and sand. The children completed an experiment to group the substances into soluble or insoluble groups.

IntoUniversity

This week Year 5 attended a workshop held by IntoUniversity. The children were learning all about what a University actually is! The children learnt what you do at University, what courses you can take, what accomodation you may choose and what societies are avaliable to join. The children behaved beautifully and learnt lots.
