History- Anglo-Saxon Laws and Punishments

This week in the Owls and the Otters, we have been learning all about Anglo-Saxon laws and punishments. The children did some role play in history this week by ‘going to court’ and trialling Anglo-Saxon criminals. The children were given different scenarios such as, ‘a boy has stolen a family’s sheep’ and they were required to find a suitable punishment for the boy and reason as to why they think that punishment was suitable. The children really enjoyed this and got stuck in!
