In English this week the children have planned, written, edited, and published their own setting descriptions. The children described a palace garden. They thought about what could be seen, heard, and felt in the garden. We thought about how the description can create a sense of atmosphere for the reader.
In maths, the children have been measuring in millimetres and centimetres and thought about the conversion between the two units of measurement. The children gave reasoning behind which unit of measurement would be best to use for measuring different objects.
In geography, year three learned how to use four-figure grid references. We also looked at the human and physical geography of Lulworth Cove on the Jurassic Coast. In computing the children created wanted posters for insect predators. They researched their habitats, favourite foods, and how they catch prey.
