In Year 4 this week, the children started their new learning on the Romans as part of our new and exciting topic, I Am Warrior. The children were introduced to this topic by looking at when the Romans arrived in Britain and what impact they had. The children then worked very hard to research how the Romans “Romanised” Britain in different ways such as religion, culture and technology. They researched and found out important information about how the Romans influenced hygiene, including baths, aqueducts and toilets, along with learning about how Romans introduced the concept of newspapers and even introduced using roads to the Britons in 43AD! The children found this week very interesting and are looking forward to learning more about war and invasion next week!
