In year 6 this week, we have been practicing our summarising skills in Whole Class Reading. This is an important strategy for when we are trying to understand the messages behind a section of text before we answer questions on it! The children have been perfecting their ‘S.O.S’ strategy to summarise effectively and they have been very successful in doing so. Well done year 6!

Autumn 1, week 4
This week in year 6, we have been learning all about the Galapagos Islands! The children can now explain significant information about the location and climate of the Islands, as well as identifying the key physical and human features. This information was really useful for later in the week, when the children started to plan an expedition across the Islands! They needed to choose 7 destinations and justify why they have been chosen.
