Year 1 will be learning about British birds. Why don't you go out and see if you can see any birds? You can use this handy website to identify them, and then come and tell us all about what you have spotted!

Click the above link to see all of the sounds that your child has been taught at school. Please practise recognising them at home - you could watch the video once with sound, and then again on mute, adding the right sounds yourself!

Year 1 have been making planets out of paper mache. They worked in groups of 3, making their balloons the right scaled size for their assigned planets. Watch out for the finished articles! (We are painting them this afternoon!)

  

Year 1 have been learning to tell the time!

Year 1 have been investigating the properties of substances discovered at a mysterious alien crash site found in school....

The children used some fabulous scientific vocabulary!

Year 1 have been learning to subtract using place value!

 

Year 1 have been learning to count in twos, fives and tens. Today they worked out which numbers were multiples of 2 and how they knew. 

Year 1 have been learning the difference between 'more' and 'less'.
